This side event explored why nature-inclusive innovation is essential for floating offshore wind infrastructure. An expert panel bringing together NGOs, academia, and wind developers discussed the opportunities and barriers to innovation in this field and examine how solutions can be supported and scaled up.
The event also featured lightning talks showcasing nature-inclusive concepts developed by university students and SMEs from across Europe. These concepts include both Nature-Inclusive Designs (NIDs) and mitigation measures. Presenter came from the pool of applicants from the 2025 Innovation Challenge Series, organised as part of the Horizon Europe project NiD4OCEAN.
The session concluded with a networking opportunity and a poster exhibition showcasing the concepts presented during the lightning talks. This gave the attendees the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the innovators behind the designs.
